A nurse who knits…

18 weeks + 5 days!

Filed under: Life in general — yarnnut @ 2:40 am

Matt and I went to the doc today for our mid-pregnancy ultrasound. He figured out that my baby scans well and we might as well do it now. Here are a few pics to see. They are in 4D and we were able to see the baby move real time. How cool is that!

Of course the original pictures look much better than these scanned images. I’ll be bringing them to the next meetup for all my knitting buddies to see.

The baby is measuring 3 days bigger than originally estimated. I only gained 1 lb but my doc isn’t concerned as long as both me and the baby are doing well. I don’t understand though. I feel so much bigger. Oh well. The baby weighs 254 grams and as my doc said “It measures spot on”. I go in for my next appointment in 4 weeks. Hopefully, I’ll be bigger and have more of a belly then. I just feel bloated.

  1. Your baby is already a cutie! No worries, the weight will come.

  2. Are you going to find out if it’s a boy or a girl?

  3. I love those 3D ultrasounds – towards the end of my pregnancy, it looked like just a bunch of arms and legs all over the place – it was fun to see whose leg belonged to which baby! SHE (yes I am holding to that it is a SHE) looks photgenic already – just like HER mama! Weight gain is a wierd thing – I only gained 30 lbs despite eating like a pig and carrying three…but my belly still was HUUUGE – They were 4lbs, 4 lbs, and 3 lbs at 32 weeks – docs were suprised. Weight gain isnt always the best marker about how big the baby will be and they start to zap your calories right from conception and continue to zap you until the day you die! Take care of yourself…rest..rest…rest…you are gonna need it!

  5. As long as he or she scans well, that’s the important thing.
