A nurse who knits…

People who know me know that I am rarely hot.  It just doesn’t happen.  It could be 90 deg outside and I don’t flip the A/C on.  Maybe it’s in my Filipino heritage.  Do Filipinos get hot?  I grew up w/ no A/C on.  My parents just never turned out on.  Even as we speak, they don’t have it on.  Because they don’t own A/C.

Well, today it’s supposed to hit 95 deg.  On Labor Day, we were 102.  Now that’s hot.  10 degrees I found out is the limit for me to put the A/C on.  How funny, it’d be humid and 80 in Michigan, and I could stand it but 102 of dry heat and I’m not doing anything cause I feel like I’ll have a heat stroke.  I actually wore a sun dress which is a rare occurance because the A/C in buildings chill me so much.

I was going to work out today.  Lol… but it’s just too hot.  Even w/ the a/c in the gym.  Someone please motivate me!  I guess I’ll spend the day buying groceries and knitting.  Even my knitting fits the weather.  No heavy sweaters to knit.  I’m knitting socks!  And the second one is almost done.  It’s a pair in Tofusie and my usual ribbed recipe.   Pictures to follow when I’m not so overcome by the heat.

  1. Ok – I need you to work out .. remember you do it for BOTH of us .. lol ..and me I’ll take the AC any second it over 70!

I just picked up Tofusie this weekend at Black Sheep – DD finally asked for socks and thought this would be perfect for her!

  2. This heat is just ridiculous. We’ve had the a/c on for four days straight. It’s almost a public service–all the neighbors keep “dropping by to say hello” and staying for hours. We seem to be the only ones on the street with a/c. And a pool. We’re suddenly very popular. I shudder to imagine our SDG&E bill.

  3. You beat me – I’m knitting with cotton and still didn’t dare to pick it up.
