A nurse who knits…

My week…

I don’t have a very creative title. I’ve been working one day on, one day off. I’m not sure I’m liking this schedule too much. I think I like it better when I’m two days on, one day off, one day back on. That way I don’t get into too much trouble.

I’ve started my laser hair removal sessions on Tuesday. I got my underarms and lower legs done. The upper legs and my bikini line will be done at another session. I’d been thinking about doing this for a long time. I hate shaving and waxing is starting to suck. It is an expensive venture. When all is said and done I’ll be putting out $4K. But this is my one big purchase this year. And if my hair is gone, it will be worth it. The place I picked was American Laser Center.  It has offices around the country and I picked it because they had a 2 year guarentee.  If any hair grows back, you can go back and get it lasered off again.  I think the sensation feels like moderate heat.  I heard it feels like a rubberband snapping on your skin.  I didn’t feel that but maybe the nurse needs to up the energy at my next session.  I go again this afternoon to get the back of my legs done.

In knitting news, the Clapotis is done.  I just need to weave the ends in and block it.  I’ll take a pic of it when it’s blocking.  Right now, I’m working on my Lucky Wrap again.  But I want to pick another project from Fitted Knits.  I’m thinking about the Dropped Stitch Lace Tank or the Puffed Sleeved Cardigan.  What do you think?  I have some stash yarn that I’m thinking about using.

The Nurses who knit ring has 6 members!  Spread the word to other nurse/knitters!

  1. I think of doing that every time someone brings up laser eye surgery. I think, for the same cost, which would I rather avoid doing? Wearing glasses, or shaving my armpits ever again… it always seems like the glasses are the lesser evil.
Good job being a little impractical and prioritizing a little luxury like that for yourself.
(if that last bit sounded sarcastic, it wasn’t meant to)

  2. So, this is funny. You are the very next blog after mine on Knitting Blogs Group Two! I forwarded you the May newsletter for NCKG, which has details of the new “I-15 Corridor” knitting SnB. Hope I see you there!
