A nurse who knits…

Almost finished….

I’m still a one project kinda woman at the moment. Marilyn’s Not So Shrunken Sweater is almost done! Wait a minute. I shouldn’t jinx myself by writing that should I? I have 5 more rows on a sleeve then I have to crochet the ruffles on and sew the buttons on. The buttons may take me the longest. Ugh…finishing really sucks.

I looked online for some yarn for the Fitted Knits KAL (Link on my sidebar). I saw the Airy Wrap Around lace sweater and fell in love. Isn’t it beautiful??

I checked a few places like Smiley’s and Discount Yarn Sale. I was going to get the bag of 10 on http://www.discountyarnsale.com. The bag was $38.25. But what in the world would I used the extra for? I’m not that in love w/ mohair. Besides DYS takes such a long time to ship. I probably couldn’t stand the wait. So I found some on eBay. I got 5 balls for $22 that will ship tomorrow. I got the lilac color 3131 that Glampyre used to knit her sample in the book. I was going to get the baby pink or blue color but loved the lilac too much to let that one go.

Of course, while I was on the eBay site, I found some Lorna’s Laces Lion and Lamb in Watercolors. How can I resist? Of course I couldn’t. I plunked down $120 for 4 skeins. Hmmm… what to make. A clapotis! I love the one I made out of Butterflies and Bullfrogs but find it just a touch scratchy. I felt the L&L up at Threadbear once and am expecting this clappy to be to die for.

Well, back to my day off. I have this on the schedule:

  • Laundry. I have no scrubs to wear at work tomorrow. You’d think being able to wear your pajamas to work would make it easier but you stil have to do laundry. I have 6 sets of scrubs but that’s still not enough. LOL.
  • Clean out the wine fridge so we can return it. The wine fridge is making a weird noise and Sears said to just bring it back to the store for a refund. Now this is no small feat. We have over 40 bottles of wine. I have NO idea where to put that many bottles except for a wine fridge of course.
  • Finish MNSSS. I have to buy a crochet hook to do the ruffles.

  1. You are on a roll with the yarn finds. I think the wrap will be gorgeous in the lilac color the book showed! Let me know the next time your free and up for a knit session – it’s been really fun meeting up.

  2. Hey, I just found your blog (through a thread on the Knitter’s Review Forum). I was wondering if you were ever able to put together a North County SnB. I live in Rancho Penasquitos (I go to Panera in Carmel Mountain Ranch several times a week, if that’s the one you were sitting at in your last post), and I’d love to meet some other knitters in the area. Please let me know!

  4. Hi there, I found you through the Fitted Knits KAL. I wanted to know where exactly your found your yarn for this wrap. I also looked on Smiley’s but didn’t want to spend over $40. Your wrap is looking beautiful!
