I made my deadline. Thank goodness. I was getting worried. Here are the stats on this project.
Pattern: Vintage Velvet scarf from Scarf Style.
Yarn: Muench Touch Me in Deep Plum
Needles: Denise Interchangeables in size 8 and a cable needle from Bryspun.
Verdict: I love the yarn. It looked much more lush before I felted it in the washer/dryer. In fact I’m still deciding whether I like it better unfelted or not. But it’s felted so let’s not cry over spilt milk. The color is beautiful and the texture while knitting was springy and satisfying. I didn’t experience the worming that many people did. Here’s a picture for you to judge for yourself.
Here’s the scarf prefelting.
And after felting:
Pictures just do not do justice for this fine scarf. At least not my pictures. But you get the idea. Would I knit this scarf again??? Yes but it’s a bit monotonous. It was basically a 1×1 ribbed scarf with a cable thrown in every few stitches. Good for a beginner or if you want mindless projects for watching tv. Time to wrap this baby up!
Knitting goals for next year:
- Learn how to finish sweaters so they look more professional- I hate seaming/sewing so this will be quite the challenge. I frequently have sweater pieces hanging out in my project bags/boxes.
- Do more cable projects.
- Knit another Charlotte’s Web or Flower Basket shawl. I have yarn in my stash.
Merry Christmas everyone if I don’t get to post again until after the holiday!
