A nurse who knits…

I am super mad!

At my Tubey! I started knitting the body part after taking months to finish the back and sleeves. I had picked up the stitches but realized after a few rows that I had knitted the ribbing inside out. You’re supposed to see 3×1 ribbing on the public side and I’d been doing it backwards. So I ripped it out… and the unthinkable happens. The back starts to unravel. What the hell? I was so mad. I can’t even salvage it. The funny thing is, you’re supposed to just pick up stitches from the side. It’s not supposed to UNRAVEL like that. Oh well, I guess it’s back to the beginning with the Tubey which means it’s never going to get finished.

And to add insult to injury, I forgot how to turn the heel on my second sock. I think I have early onset Alzheimers. And to make matters worse, the pattern makes no sense to me right now. I’m going to high tail it over to Threadbear sometime to get this mess straightened out. Maybe they can help me with the Celebrity shawl that I’m attempting to crochet. I must have forgotten how to do that too. lol

Well, I should get back to studying. I have a big exam on Monday for my Peds class and a paper due that is still in the rough draft phase. I have another exam and paper due the week after that. Yikes!

  1. oh no!! i hate knitting frustrations like that!! that just means you need a break. get some much needed space from those projects and come back to them when you’re good and ready. =) good luck with your studying!

  2. Hey, take comfort in knowing that you are not alone. I’m always effing something up. Which is why my end result looks nothing like what I’m supposed to be making.

Oh, I stopped halfway w/ my celebrity shawl b/c I realized that I was doing it wrong. You’re supposed to see the holes at the connection point. You didn’t see that with mine, it was a mess. But my best friend loves it, so happy birthday to her.

Oh yeah, cheer up. This only means that you’re not meant to follow patterns. Your inner designer is trying to break free.

Haha, at least that’s what I say to myself to keep from going postal.

  3. Yeah a joint adventure sounds good.

I just joined the Green Gable along. I have updated my site with the button yet. I guess I should do that now.
